About Mikhail Grushevsky
Mikhail Grushevsky studied at the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys and worked at a research institute before turning to the stage. In 1988 he moved to the studio theatre Grotesk, and in 1989 his first television appearance, on the political programme Vzglyad, carried what is described as the first parody of a sitting head of state in Soviet times.
Imitating politicians became the core of his act. His gallery of parodies includes Leonid Brezhnev, Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin among many others, he voiced political characters on the NTV satirical show Kukly, and he dubbed the role of Gorbachev in Leonid Gaidai's film Na Deribasovskoy khoroshaya pogoda. From 1996 to 2004 he was a regular in the humour programme Anshlag. Later television work included hosting the REN TV talk show Babiy bunt, taking part in the reality show Posledniy geroy and an anniversary concert, Versiya 5.5, shown on NTV. Outside comedy he works as a football expert, supports CSKA Moscow, and has served on the board of directors of the Russian Authors' Society.
