About Roman Kositsyn
Roman Kositsyn (born February 22, 1984, in Rossosh, Voronezh Oblast) is a Russian stand-up comedian. He studied law at Voronezh State University while performing with the university's KVN team, Fakultet, which reached the league's Premier level. In spring 2006, a branch of Comedy Club opened in Voronezh, and Kositsyn's performance there was noticed by a Moscow producer, who invited him to perform with the main Comedy Club cast in Moscow. He subsequently left his legal studies to pursue comedy full time, working as an editor for the Voronezh Comedy Club branch and performing on the Comedy Club Kursk Style stage. In 2015, Kositsyn became a resident of the Stand Up television project on TNT and has since toured Russian cities with solo stand-up concerts, with performances listed on ticketing platforms such as Yandex Afisha. His comedy material frequently draws on his provincial upbringing in Voronezh Oblast, touching on childhood, small town life, and family relationships. In 2020, together with fellow comedian Dmitry Pozov, he launched a YouTube channel originally called Poz i Kos, later renamed Ploshchadka, devoted to comedic commentary on football. Kositsyn also maintains his own YouTube channel featuring stand-up material and appears on Russian television comedy programs including Comedy Battle and Roast Battle.
