About Sergey Orlov
Sergey Sergeevich Orlov (born 23 June 1993, Deputatsky, Yakutia) is a Russian stand-up comic. Winner in the category "Novye media" from Forbes magazine (2022). He was born in the Far North on 23 June 1993 in the Yakut settlement of Deputatsky. He was named after his father, who died of a heroin overdose when Sergey was three years old. His mother soon after her husband's death married a former classmate who had been in love with her since school.
Having moved after school to Yakutsk and entered an institute in the specialty of lawyer, he began performing in clubs, hosted weddings and corporate events, and worked in the press service of the settlement's city administration. Orlov was one of the organisers of the first "Severnyi Stand Up klub" in Yakutia, where together with other comics he perfected his skill. He left the university after the 2nd year, deciding that he would achieve more in the comedic field.
In 2017 he started a channel on YouTube and began uploading his performances. In the summer of 2018 he took part in and won the comedy festival "Panchlayn" in the category "Best solo concert". After the victory he moved to Moscow, where he almost immediately joined "Stand Up Club #1" and began performing stand-up. In May 2020 he performed stand-up on the show "Vecherniy Urgant". In 2022 he won in the category "Novye media" from Forbes magazine, and at the end of January went on a tour of Russia. In mid-August 2022 Orlov presented his 3rd solo concert "Samozvanets", which some viewers characterised as "psychotherapy of society". Sergey also became the host of a new season of the comedy show Roast Battle, replacing Aleksey Shcherbakov. He is married and is raising a stepdaughter, Olesya. In his stand-up Orlov talks a lot about life in the Russian provinces, so the comic is often called "narodnyi".
