Yan Zubkov

Yan Zubkov is a Russian stand-up comedian born in 2000 in Nizhny Novgorod. He grew up in a Russian family that spent time living in Los Angeles before returning to Russia, after which he began performing stand-up in Nizhny Novgorod's comedy clubs. His style is built around a deliberately slow, calm delivery, precise punchlines and observational humor drawn from absurd everyday situations and wordplay. He gained wider notice through repeated wins on competitive open mic formats such as 'Gong Show' and 'Money Mic', and has been a performer at Stand-Up Club Number 1 since 2019. After moving to Moscow, he became a semifinalist in the sixth season of the television talent show 'Open Microphone' on TNT in 2021, competing on comedian Nurlan Saburov's team, and made his television debut on the flagship Russian stand-up show 'Stand Up' on TNT in 2022, earning positive reviews and a wider audience.
