Danny Cho

Danny Cho is a Korean American stand-up comedian, writer and content creator. Born and raised in Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles, to Korean immigrant parents, he began performing stand-up at an open mic the summer before starting at UCLA. He went on to perform at the Laugh Factory and the Improv in Hollywood and at shows across Southern California. After college he worked as a financial consultant in California but left the job to pursue comedy full time, earning as little as 60 dollars in his first month back on stage. Around 2011 he moved to Seoul, where he became involved in the city's small English-language stand-up scene and traveled throughout Asia performing comedy. After roughly seven years of touring the region, he returned to live in Korea and discovered its emerging underground Korean-language comedy scene. Cho now performs both English-language and Korean-language stand-up in Korea, hosts podcasts and has given a TED talk about bringing stand-up comedy to the country.
