Jung Hyung-don

Jung Hyung-don worked six years for an electronics company before he tried comedy, and he made his television debut on the sketch show Gag Concert in 2002 with a routine built on singing snatches of pop songs and landing a punchline on the last note. Music stayed in the act after that.

From 2005 he was part of the cast of Infinite Challenge, the programme that shaped Korean variety for a generation, and several of the songs he recorded for its song festivals charted. With the rapper Defconn he took over Weekly Idol in 2011, a show whose comedy depends on putting idol groups through games and questions they cannot rehearse. His register is self-deprecating: the member of the ensemble who is least cool and knows it.
