Kang Yu-mi

Kang Yu-mi was one of KBS's 19th generation of comedians, chosen through the broadcaster's open recruitment, and she closed her first year by taking the best new comedian prize at the KBS Entertainment Awards. On Gag Concert she first caught attention in the corner My Girl, with a confident image and a line urging people to live creatively. She then partnered Ahn Young-mi in Go Go! Into Art, which parodied the conventions of different genres, and worked with Yoo Se-yoon on Love's Counselor.

The partnership with Ahn Young-mi brought them a shared Baeksang Arts Award for best female variety performer in 2010. A year later she joined Comedy Big League on tvN, and from 2012 she was part of the cast of Saturday Night Live Korea. Acting has come alongside the sketch work, with roles in the dramas Temptation of an Angel and Dong Yi and a special appearance in Reply 1997. Her YouTube channel, opened in April 2017, gave her a platform of her own outside broadcast television.
