About Peach Weber

Peach Weber qualified as a primary school teacher before comedy took over his life. In 1976 he finished second at a talent festival in Zurich, and in 1978 he appeared on Swiss national television for the first time. His comic songs caught on quickly, and his singles and live albums made their way up the Swiss hit parade.

He works in numbered stage programmes, each of them released as an album. The run starts with So bin I halt in 1980 and passes through Tüppisch!, Früsch vo de Läbere, Nix wie Gäx, Gäxpresso and Mister Gaga before reaching King of Gäx, his seventeenth programme, in 2025. Früsch vo de Läbere earned him the Prix Bernhard for the most successful stage programme of its year, and he has won the Prix Walo twice.

In 2008 he announced his farewell show, Fertig Luschtig, at the Hallenstadion in Zurich, and fixed its date as 15 October 2027, the day after his 75th birthday. Guinness World Records recognised the attempt under the title Longest advance ticket sale period. He has also put his jokes into print, in books such as Nix wie Comix and Peach Weber's Witz-Chischte.
