Barbaros Uzunöner is a Turkish stand-up comedian, actor and writer born on 1 January 1976 in Istanbul. He studied business at Karadeniz Technical University before training in theatre at Akademi Kenter under Yıldız Kenter, Müşfik Kenter and Kadriye Kenter. He worked for Gırgır, Turkey's best known humor magazine, for ten years, where his early writing appeared. Uzunöner performs a solo stand-up show, Türk Müsün Canım (Are You Turkish, Dear), built around observations of Turkish daily life and mindset, and has taken the format to the TEDxReset stage. He has also written and performed numerous theatre plays across his career.
