Kaan Sekban

Kaan Sekban is a Turkish stand-up comedian, TV host, and author born on January 18, 1983, in Istanbul. He holds a degree in Political Science and International Relations from Yildiz Technical University and an MBA in Strategic Marketing and Brand Management from Bahcesehir University. Before entering comedy, Sekban spent a decade working in the Turkish banking sector. His comedic voice was forged in that corporate world: his stand-up savages HR jargon, office politics, and the daily absurdities of Istanbul professional life.

Sekban transitioned from banking to comedy after attending acting and musical workshops in Turkey and abroad. He first built an audience with viral sketches mocking corporate culture before launching 'Kaan Sekban ile Alt Tarafi Bi' Talk Show' - a homemade, self-produced talk show that became a cult hit on YouTube. The series features satirical interviews and social commentary delivered in an intentionally lo-fi format that contrasts with slick broadcast production. The show has run since 2020 and accumulated multiple seasons. In April 2025, Sekban performed a live stand-up show at Drom NYC in New York City, marking a step toward the North American Turkish diaspora market. He is also a published author of two books and has appeared as a guest on the Konusanlar comedy franchise.

Kaan Sekban performs live stand-up across Turkey in venues including DasDas and Zorlu PSM in Istanbul, as well as touring internationally.
