About Andriy Shchehel
Andriy Shchehel was born in Kyiv in 1992 and studied law at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, playing in KVK, the team comedy contest, during his student years. His first stand-up set was at an open mic in 2014, and he kept working as a museum tour guide until 2017, when comedy became his job.
At Pidpilnyi Stand-Up he grew into the club's main headliner before leaving in 2019 for Minsk, where he became a resident of Stand-Up Comedy Hall and in 2020 co-founded a podcast. In 2021 he took his national liberation solo show on a tour of Ukrainian cities, and the rights to that programme went to SWEET.TV, the deal behind his place as the first Ukrainian comic to sell a stand-up special.
