Bin Swelah

Bin Swelah, born Ali Saleh Awadh Aljaberi on 17 November 1996 in Al Ain, is an Emirati actor and stand-up comedian. He began his career as a theatre artist in 2013 at Al Qasba Theatre in Sharjah before moving into stand-up and satirical sketch comedy. Starting around 2014, he built a large following on Instagram with short comedy sketches that turn everyday anecdotes into satirical vignettes about the pressures facing Arab youth, such as exams and job hunting, eventually releasing close to 300 such sketches over three years. His work expanded to YouTube, where his Arabic-language sketches and live comedy clips have drawn a following across the Gulf. Because the UAE had no dedicated platform for local stand-up performed in Arabic, Bin Swelah co-founded the Emirati Comedy Club together with fellow comedian Ahmed Saif, opening its stage to any Arabic-speaking stand-up performer. Describing himself as a stand-up comedian first, he has gone on to headline his own solo, ticketed live shows, including a stand-up special at Dubai's Zabeel Theatre in September 2024 and the show "Bin Swelah and Friends" at the 2025 Dubai Comedy Festival. The National has profiled him as a UAE comic who delivers satire with a sharp edge, and he has built a following of nearly one million people across Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat. In 2015, he also wrote a book, The Ability of an Actor.
