About Alex Horne

Alex Horne studied classics at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and then took a graduate degree in broadcast journalism at Goldsmiths, University of London. His 2003 Edinburgh show Making Fish Laugh was nominated for a Perrier Award for Best Newcomer, and in 2004 he won a Chortle Award for Best Breakthrough Act. His best-known creation began as an idea in early 2009. Taskmaster was tried out as a live Fringe show, including a sequel billed as Taskmaster II, before becoming a television series that has won a BAFTA and moved from Dave to Channel 4 in 2020. Since 2015 Horne has co-hosted it with Greg Davies, and he has written the tie-in book Bring Me the Head of the Taskmaster.
