Ashley Storrie

Ashley Storrie was born in Glasgow in 1986 and started performing unusually young: her first Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, in 1999, was called What Were You Doing When You Were 13? As an adult she found a following online first, with parody sketches that moved famous stories to Scotland, among them If Harry Potter Was Scottish in 2016, and then on stage with Fringe hours such as Hysterical in 2019, a show that turned isolation into something a room could laugh at together.

Radio has been a steady base. From 2018 she hosted a late Friday night programme on BBC Radio Scotland, she has sat on the panel of The News Quiz, and her own BBC Radio 4 series, What's the Story, Ashley Storrie?, was recommissioned for a second run. For BBC Scotland she co-presented Up For It with Christopher Macarthur-Boyd and Rosco McClelland, and she made Janey and Ashley Get A Real Job with her mother, the comedian Janey Godley.

Her largest screen project is Dinosaur, a BBC Three comedy she created with Matilda Curtis and in which she stars. The first series was broadcast in April 2024, and at that year's BAFTA Scotland Awards she and Curtis shared the prize for writing.
