About Daniel Sloss
Daniel Sloss (born 11 September 1990) is a Scottish comedian. He was the youngest comedian to perform a solo season in London's West End, at the age of 19, and has toured internationally, released a stand-up comedy DVD through BBC Worldwide's 2Entertain label when he was 20, and appeared on US television shows such as Conan and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Born to Scottish parents in Kingston upon Thames, England, the oldest of four children, he moved with his family to Scotland at the age of four, settling in Fife, and attended East Wemyss Primary School and Waid Academy in Anstruther.
When Sloss was sixteen, his mother put him in contact with comedian Frankie Boyle, who coached him during his run at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival; Sloss also wrote jokes for Boyle on BBC's Mock the Week and credits him for his initial success. He performed his first stage gig at The Stand in Edinburgh in October 2007, and presented his first show "Life in 2D" at the 2008 Fringe alongside fellow comic Davey See. In 2009 he sold out his debut full-length Fringe season Teenage Kicks and took it to London's Soho Theatre, becoming the youngest comedian to perform a solo season there and in the West End. His subsequent shows included My Generation (2010), The Joker (2011), The Show (2012), Stand-Up (2013), Really...?! (2014) and DARK (2015).
DARK toured over 80 dates across 15 countries in Europe and the UK, with off-Broadway runs at New York's SoHo Playhouse, and The New York Times featured Sloss on the front page of its Arts section. He opened for Dave Chappelle's two shows and starred in the "Best of Edinburgh" line-up at San Francisco's Sketchfest. In 2018 he simultaneously released two hour-long Netflix specials, DARK and Jigsaw, under the collective title Daniel Sloss - Live Shows, which received critical acclaim. He taped DARK at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles in February 2018 as part of a two-special deal with Netflix.
