Eunice Olumide
About Eunice Olumide
Eunice Olumide reached stand-up after years in fashion and broadcasting. She was the first black Scottish model to appear on the cover of Vogue, and as a presenter she has fronted Pick of The Week on BBC Radio 4 and the late-night music show Music Match on BBC Radio Scotland.
Her comedy grew out of the Fringe. AfroPolitiCool led to Afrish, a series of online comedy shorts for the BBC, and she produced and directed A Work in Progress live at The Stand Comedy Club. Acting and filmmaking run alongside it: she worked as second assistant director on the BAFTA-winning feature Trouble Sleeping and played a role in it, had parts in Star Wars Rogue One, The Last Jedi and Absolutely Fabulous, and directed and produced the documentary Secret Lives: The Untold Story of British Hip Hop. Her MBE was given for broadcasting, arts and charity.
