About Simon Evans
Simon Evans was born in Luton and read law at the University of Southampton before comedy took over. He began bringing one-man shows to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2000 and has worked as a stand-up since then, with an act that moves between everyday observation, satire and black comedy.
He tours under show titles such as Fringe Magnet, Friendly Fire, Leashed, Genius, Have We Met? and Work of the Devil. On television he has played Live at the Apollo twice, and in the autumn of 2013 he was a weekly regular on Stand Up for the Week on Channel 4, a topical show that turned the news into stand-up.
Radio carries much of his work. He hosted seven series of The Way It Is on BBC Radio 4 and is often heard on panel shows such as The News Quiz. He also writes: he contributed to Not Going Out, keeps a regular column in Spiked and has had pieces in The Spectator, UnHerd and The Daily Telegraph.
