Alex Hooper
About Alex Hooper
Alex Hooper is an American stand-up comedian, actor and self-described professional roaster based in Los Angeles. Born in 1985 in Baltimore, Maryland, he built his career on the LA open-mic circuit before exploding into the mainstream with his America's Got Talent auditions in 2018 and 2020. Known for wild hair, vapor-wave styling and aggressive crowd roasts blended with silly positivity, Hooper is one of the most visually distinctive comedians working in the US.
Alex Hooper rose to viral fame with his Season 13 America's Got Talent audition in 2018, where he roasted Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell to their faces; the clip has over 75 million online views. He was invited back in 2020 for AGT Season 15, becoming one of the few rejected contestants to be brought back, and made it to the live shows. Hooper released his album Roast Album on ASpecialThing Records. He runs CRAVE, a hybrid comedy show combining stand-up, one-act plays and live music. His comedy mixes harsh insult comedy with absurdist character work and a deliberately offbeat positive energy.
Alex Hooper performs regularly at LA clubs including the Improv chain (Irvine, Brea, Ontario) and various alternative venues across Los Angeles. He tours independently across the United States with his roast-based stand-up sets and books private roasts via Cameo. His viral AGT performances are available on YouTube and his official site hoopercomedy.com lists upcoming dates.
