About Amir K
Amir K is an Iranian-American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer based in Los Angeles. Born in Tehran, Iran, and raised in Southern California, he draws on a multicultural upbringing that shapes much of his material. Fluent in Farsi and Spanish, he is known for character work, storytelling, and improvisation, along with accents and impressions. He began performing stand-up around 2009, moving to Los Angeles and starting over after the housing-market crash ended his work as a real estate appraiser in Huntington Beach.
Alongside stand-up, Amir K has built a screen career. He was part of the ensemble cast of Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning film Argo (2012), which earned a Screen Actors Guild Award, and he has appeared on the revived MADtv, NBC's Last Comic Standing, and Comedy Central's Adam Devine's House Party, among other television programs.
He regularly headlines Los Angeles clubs including The Comedy Store, the Laugh Factory, and The Improv, and has toured internationally, including an arena tour alongside comedian Theo Von. He also hosts the podcast Salty Locks. Stand-up remains the core of his work.
