About Dina Hashem
Dina Hashem is an American stand-up comedian, voice actress, and writer. Of Egyptian and Moroccan descent, she grew up in a Muslim household in New Jersey, experiences that informed much of her comedic material. She attended Rutgers University, where she studied English, philosophy, and Japanese and first performed stand-up after entering and winning a campus comedy contest. Hashem first gained widespread attention from a roast performance at The Stand NYC after a YouTube video received more than 5 million views, and she went on to make her Comedy Central debut by winning on Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle. She is known for her one-hour stand-up special Dark Little Whispers on Amazon Prime, which was executive produced by comedian Sam Morril and praised by The New York Times. As a writer on The Daily Show, she has been nominated for two Emmy Awards and two Writers Guild of America Awards.
