About Dwayne Perkins
Dwayne Perkins (born 1971) is an American stand-up comedian from Brooklyn, New York, currently residing in Los Angeles. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the New York Institute of Technology and began performing at the Uptown Comedy Club in Harlem before moving to Boston in 1994. While performing at The Comedy Studio in Boston in 1999, he was scouted by Late Night with Conan O'Brien and made his television stand-up debut on that show in July of the same year. He has appeared on Conan, Comedy Central, and as a regular correspondent on The Jay Leno Show. In August 2012 he was selected by Rolling Stone as one of their Five Comics to Watch, and in October 2015 he was the artist-in-residence at the Rotterdam International Comedy Festival. Perkins prefers to appeal to broad audiences, and his delivery style has been characterized as likeable and matter-of-fact.
