About Jonah Ray
Jonah Ray came up through Los Angeles comedy, performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater while working as a writer's assistant on The Andy Milonakis Show. His recorded stand-up started small, with This Is Crazy Mixed-up Plumbing, a seven-inch record on Aspecialthing Records, and continued with the album Hello, Mr. Magic Plane Person, Hello in 2012.
Podcasting widened his audience. He was one of Chris Hardwick's co-hosts on The Nerdist Podcast, and in 2012 he launched Jonah Raydio, which leaned on guests from independent music such as Man Man and Har Mar Superstar. On Comedy Central, The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, co-hosted with Kumail Nanjiani, ran for three seasons between 2014 and 2016. His best-known role came with the revival of Mystery Science Theater 3000, made possible by a Kickstarter campaign, in which he hosted seasons 11, 12 and 13 as Jonah Heston.
