About Maureen Langan
Maureen Langan is an American stand-up comedian, broadcaster, and TEDx speaker from Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey. A veteran of the US club circuit and the Edinburgh Fringe, she is the daughter of an Irish immigrant mother and a Bronx-born New York City sanitation worker, and turned that family story into the long-running solo show Daughter of a Garbageman.
Langan built her solo show Daughter of a Garbageman around growing up Irish-Catholic in New Jersey with five siblings; it had a run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before its US debut at San Francisco's The Marsh. Her follow-up Don't Make Me Hate You premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022, became a Pick of the Fringe, and was recorded as a Dry Bar Comedy special. In 2023 she reached the semifinals of America's Got Talent Season 18 with a four-yes audition. As a broadcaster she hosted Hanging with Langan for seven years on KGO Radio San Francisco, created award-winning Bloomberg TV and Radio programming, won two Cable ACE Awards for PBS documentaries, and was named Best Female Commentator by the Newswomen's Club of New York. Her stand-up is observational, working-class, and politically pointed.
Langan is on the road with her Don't Make Me Hate You Comedy Tour through 2025 and into 2026, playing theaters and clubs across the United States including a December 2025 date at The Comedy Arena in McKinney, Texas. She splits her time between San Francisco and New York and books regularly at the West Side Comedy Club.
