About Olan Rogers
Rogers started on YouTube in the sketch trio BalloonShop, alongside Thomas Gore and Joss Pursley, while he was at the University of Memphis. On his own channel he moved away from sketch towards told stories: long, wound-up accounts of things that had happened to him, delivered straight to camera and broken up with short films and animation.
The storytelling fed into animation. An eight-minute pilot he made in 2016 led to a deal with TBS and to Final Space, where he voiced Gary Goodspeed and the creature Mooncake. After the series ended he finished the story as a graphic novel, released the crowdfunded animation Godspeed on YouTube, made the ghost-hunting series Haunt Hounds and set up Lightfold. For several years he also ran The Soda Parlor, an arcade and dessert lounge in Nashville.
