About Pierre Edwards
Pierre Edwards, professionally known by the single name Pierre, is an American actor, director, writer and stand-up comedian born on May 7, 1967, in Killeen, Texas. His family moved to Germany when he was three weeks old, and he returned to the United States at age eleven, settling in Washington, D.C., where he began performing stand-up alongside future stars Martin Lawrence, Dave Chappelle, Wanda Sykes and Tommy Davidson. He relocated to Hollywood in 1991, and his national breakthrough came in 1992 with an appearance on HBO's Def Comedy Jam during its first season; he went on to appear on BET's ComicView, Showtime at the Apollo, and Martin Lawrence Presents First Amendment.
On film, Edwards played Ali in B*A*P*S (1997), David in Def Jam's How to Be a Player (1997), and a detective in 2001: A Space Travesty (2000). He is best known for writing, co-directing, producing and starring as Dre Mitchell in the independent comedy For Da Love of Money (2002). He continues to tour as a stand-up comedian and hosts the podcast Pierre's Panic Room.
