About Randy Credico
Randy Credico, born in 1954, worked the American comedy circuit as a young man, and at 27 he got the booking most stand-ups of his generation wanted, a spot on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. It did not last. On a later appearance he compared Jeane Kirkpatrick to Eva Braun, and the programme never invited him back.
Politics went on to shape most of what he did next. He directed the William Moses Kunstler Fund for Racial Justice and treated election campaigns as another stage: he challenged Chuck Schumer in the Democratic primary for the Senate in 2010, sought the Democratic nomination for mayor of New York City in 2013 and ran against Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary for governor in 2014. As a radio presenter he has interviewed political figures, Julian Assange among them.
