Robby Hoffman

Robby Hoffman, born Rivkah Sarah Hoffman on December 2, 1989, is a Canadian-American actress, writer, and comedian. Born in Brooklyn, New York, the seventh of ten siblings in a Hasidic Jewish family, she was raised by her single mother in Montreal, Canada, after her parents divorced. She has said her mother struggled financially and that she lived in poverty. After attending Bialik Secondary School, she enrolled at McGill University to study accounting and communications, and later began the graduate CPA program at McGill, only to quit a few hours into her first day to pursue a career in comedy.

Hoffman began her career as a writer and is known for her work on The Chris Gethard Show, Baroness Von Sketch Show, Workin' Moms, and Odd Squad, the last of which won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2019 for her writing. She released her first stand-up special, I'm Nervous, in 2019, recorded at the Just For Laughs festival in Toronto for Crave TV. She was named one of Comedy Central's Up Next comedians in 2018 and appeared on Conan O'Brien's Comics to Watch list, as well as on Vulture's The Comedians You Should and Will Know in 2020.

Hoffman was nominated in 2025 for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her recurring role as Randi in the HBO Max comedy-drama Hacks. The New York Times called her "a breakout star" and a "fan favorite". She received a Juno Award nomination for Comedy Album of the Year at the 2026 Juno Awards for her album I'm Nervous. In her personal life, Hoffman is a lesbian, and married The Bachelorette alumna Gabby Windey in January 2025.
