About Ron Taylor
Ron Taylor was born and raised in Detroit and built his act the slow way, playing clubs and festivals around the country. Between 2015 and 2023 he lived in a van so he could keep doing comedy full time.
The showcase circuit opened up in 2017, when he performed at LOL Live, a showcase linked to Kevin Hart, and Bill Burr picked him for The Ringers, a stand-up series on Comedy Central. A year later Just for Laughs in Montreal named him one of its New Faces. Television spots on Apollo Live followed, along with a part in the FX comedy Oh Jerome, No and a role in Old Dads, the film Burr directed.
His debut hour, Avalanche, came out through Comedy Dynamics in April 2024, directed by Jay Chapman. The widest audience arrived with Funny AF with Kevin Hart on Netflix: Taylor took the first season on a public vote, and the prize was a Netflix special of his own and a slot at The Roast of Kevin Hart.
