Sam Morrison

Sam Morrison is an American stand-up comedian and writer born in 1995 in Sarasota, Florida, who built his career on the New York City club circuit before becoming an international name through his solo show Sugar Daddy. He describes himself as an 'anxious, asthmatic, gay diabetic Jew' and combines high-energy club stand-up with confessional storytelling. He was named a Just For Laughs Montreal New Face in 2023.

Morrison's breakout work is Sugar Daddy, a stand-up and storytelling hybrid about losing his older partner to COVID-19. It premiered at the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe, transferred Off-Broadway to the SoHo Playhouse in January 2023, extended four times and was named 'The best new show in New York' by The Daily Beast. The show earned nominations for the Outer Critics Circle and Off Broadway Alliance Awards and is in development for a 2025 Broadway run, with Alan Cumming and Billy Porter among the producers. In 2023 he made his late-night TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers, was selected as a Just For Laughs New Face, performed on Comedy Central Featuring and The Drew Barrymore Show, was a Stand Up NBC finalist, and appeared on Watch What Happens Live, Howard Stern and Tamron Hall. His style blends fast, neurotic punchlines with raw grief-and-queerness storytelling.

Sam Morrison tours internationally with Sugar Daddy and his stand-up sets, headlining clubs and theatres in the US, UK and beyond, with confirmed acclaimed runs in Edinburgh, London and New York and a 2025 Broadway development.
