Sandra Risser

Sandra Risser is an American stand-up comedian, born in 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa and based in Phoenix, Arizona. A late-career comic who went pro after retiring from a long working life, she is best known for her audition on Season 20 of America's Got Talent in 2025, where at age 83 she received yes votes from all four judges with a blue, suggestive set framed around shopping.

Sandra Risser graduated from UCLA, then lived in New York City, San Francisco and California across a 40-year career as a teacher, computer programmer and systems analyst, and travel agency owner before going full time into comedy in her later years. She has performed at clubs, casinos and one-woman festival shows around the United States and is featured on SiriusXM. She placed 3rd in the World Series of Comedy in Atlanta and 2nd in Sarasota in 2022, won Funniest Comedian in the Valley in Arizona, and was a Top 3 finisher in additional comedy contests. In 2025 she auditioned on America's Got Talent Season 20 with a shopping bit that doubled as a thinly veiled metaphor about sex, earning four yeses from the judging panel. She later confirmed she was not selected to advance to the live shows. Her style is irreverent, blue observational comedy about aging, marriage, and growing up through the sex, drugs and rock and roll era.

Sandra Risser headlines and features at clubs, casinos and corporate dates around the United States, including frequent runs in Arizona and California. She tours one-woman festival shows and is available for private booking through sandrarisser.com. The AGT 2025 audition video is on the official America's Got Talent YouTube channel and NBC.
