About Sean Patton
Sean Patton (born 1980 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor based in New York City. Known on stage as Big Daddy Sean, he brings the storytelling traditions and outsider warmth of his New Orleans upbringing into his stand-up, weaving personal narratives about his unconventional family, his obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the friction of navigating the world as a man who doesn't quite fit any neat category. After building a reputation in New York City clubs, Patton became a regular face on late-night television and a recognized voice in character-driven American storytelling comedy.
Sean Patton recorded his Comedy Central Half Hour in 2013, which helped establish him nationally. He has appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Conan, and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham. His debut one-hour special, Number One, premiered on Peacock in December 2022, executive produced by Michael Che and filmed at Tipitina's - the historic music venue in his hometown of New Orleans. The special explores his OCD, his chaotic upbringing, and the complicated bonds of his family. Patton has also appeared as a writer and actor on television, including FX's English Teacher, which streams on Hulu and Disney+.
Sean Patton continues to tour the United States and perform at comedy clubs in New York City and beyond. His special Number One is available on Peacock and also on YouTube. He remains one of the more distinctive voices in American stand-up, known for combining raw personal storytelling with a physical, committed performance style rooted in his New Orleans background.
