José Rafael Briceño

Jose Rafael Briceno Pulido, born May 27, 1970, in Caracas, Venezuela, is a Venezuelan comedian, theatre director, broadcaster and professor known as "el Profesor Briceno." He is the son of psychologist and former government minister Mercedes Pulido de Briceno. Briceno spent two decades directing and performing in professional theatre and at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, where he has also taught as a professor. He later moved into stand-up comedy, performing regularly on Caracas's Moulin Rouge and Teatro Bar comedy circuits. He has staged several solo comedy specials, including Briceno lo cuenta todo, Briceno y el fin del Mundo and Profesor Briceno Comico, as well as collective shows such as Mi Pais tu Pais and Los Hijos del Ocio. He was selected by Comedy Central for the television special Stand Up Sin Fronteras and has also worked as a radio host for national networks in Venezuela.
