About Nacho Redondo

Redondo was born in Caracas in 1986 and spent his first working years behind other people's microphones. He wrote for the Venevision Plus late night show Erika Tipo 11 with Erika de la Vega, joined the writing room of La Sopa Venezuela, and was the only writer on Luis Chataing's programmes Ahora Mismo and Conectados. Radio ran in parallel, from Templo Pagano on HOT 94.1 through El Mostacho Radio and Arroz Especial to Tres Contra El Mundo on La Mega.

His own stand-up started in 2013 with a long run of performances in No Quiero Show, put together by Jose Rafael Guzman. The first solo hour, Dios No Vino, took him through Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela. The next one, Discapacitados, was written out of the argument the earlier material had provoked, and it opened at the Miami Improv as the first Spanish-language show that room had staged. Macadamia came after it.

Since 2018 he has hosted the weekly comedy podcast Escuela de Nada with Leonardo Rojas and Christopher Andrade, carried on YouTube, Spotify and Patreon.
