Frank Lotito

Frank Lotito discovered stand-up while playing Carmelo in The Wedding, a long-running stage production from Broccoli Productions that he performed around Australia for six years. Guest roles on local television came next, in Neighbours, Blue Heelers, Stingers, The Secret Life of Us and Thank God You're Here, and in 2003 he worked as a presenter on Discover for Network 7.

Producing gradually became the bigger part of the job. He made the environmental documentary Fish out of Water with Ian Thorpe in 2007, the series The Phone for Fox8, the cooking series Stefano's Cooking Paradiso for Lifestyle Food, which earned a Logie nomination, and the special Vancouver Dreams around the 2010 Winter Games.

His feature films show the same move from in front of the camera to behind it. He wrote, produced and acted in Big Mamma's Boy in 2011 and produced and appeared in The Lookalike, with Justin Long and Jerry O'Connell, in 2014. Growing Up Smith, starring Jason Lee, was his first film as director in 2015; he later directed Wog Boys Forever in 2022, and his filmography also includes Pellegrini's: A Melbourne Legacy.
