About George Smilovici
George Smilovici is a Cuban-born Australian comedian, the son of Romanian-Jewish immigrants who first settled in Cuba from 1946 to 1959.
When Fidel Castro's revolution reached Cuba, the family fled to El Salvador and then Guatemala before settling in Sydney, Australia, when Smilovici was six years old.
He is best known for his comic monologue "I'm Tuff," which reached number one on the Australian singles chart, displacing Stevie Wonder from the top spot.
