About Tom Cashman

Thomas James Cashman, born 14 September 1989 in Sydney, is an Australian stand-up comedian and writer. His father, Greg Cashman, a high school mathematics teacher and comedy enthusiast, took the family to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival during Cashman's teenage years, an experience that helped draw him toward stand-up; he was later selected for the festival's Comedy Zone showcase in 2017. Cashman gained wider public attention in 2022 after a series of viral videos in which he asked a prospective landlord for a "landlord reference," a request that led the landlord to withdraw his rental approval. Since 2023 he has co-hosted and co-written the Australian version of Taskmaster, alongside host Tom Gleeson, who nicknames him "Lesser Tom" as a running joke on the show. His stand-up specials include Good (2018), XYZ (2019), Graphs (2022), After the Fall and Pests, several of which he self-released on YouTube. He has also been a regular panelist on The Project and has appeared on programs including The Hundred with Andy Lee, Question Everything, Celebrity Letters & Numbers, and Tonightly with Tom Ballard.
