About Diogo Defante Rodrigues

Diogo Defante Rodrigues (born in Rio de Janeiro on 27 September 1990) is a Brazilian comedian, YouTuber, musician and businessman. He gained notoriety on the internet with comic videos and unpredictable behavior, especially those in which he acts as Repórter Doidão. Defante began his musical career in the carioca underground circuit, becoming the drummer of the band Let's Go at just 13 years old and staying for eight years. He played in other bands between 2012 and 2017, when he left his musical career after gaining traction on YouTube and joining Paramaker at the invitation of Felipe Neto. In 2021 he resumed his musical career as a vocalist, releasing the independent album Robson (2023), and in 2024 he released the album Tífane.

Diogo Defante was born in the Realengo neighborhood, in the Zona Oeste of Rio de Janeiro, and was raised in the sub-neighborhood Barata. His mother, Maria Lourdes Defante, was an essential figure in encouraging his artistic talent, enrolling him in the children's modeling agency "Talentos Brilhantes" and encouraging him to play drums. During his school years he founded his first band, Let's Go, where he played drums for almost a decade. Before consolidating his internet career, he studied three years of Publicidade e Propaganda, and his first job was at Rádio Tupi as a cameraman for the station's website. In 2023 he was recognized as "Homem do Ano na Internet" at the Prêmio Men of the Year Brasil. He currently hosts Rango Brabo, a program that mixes cooking and interviews, shown on the Podpah channel, and is a founding partner of Skip, an agency that manages the careers of notable influencers.

Diogo Defante began his YouTube path in 2012, publishing nonsense humor sketches inspired by the group Hermes e Renato on the Canal Kaozada, a project created in partnership with Lucas Paes. In 2014 the pair launched a new channel, Foco, which joined Paramaker, the company of Felipe Neto, and after its end Defante remained at Paramaker, relocated to the humor channel Parafernalha. In 2015 he created the Diogo Defante channel on YouTube, and at the start of 2016 he introduced the character Repórter Doidão. In 2017 he left Paramaker to dedicate himself exclusively to his solo channel. It was in 2018 that Diogo Defante went viral for the first time with a Repórter Doidão video, which took his channel from 60 thousand to 600 thousand subscribers. During the pandemic he gained national repercussion with the expression "Fora SUS", and another successful segment was Atrasados do Enem.
