Gustavo Mendes
About Gustavo Mendes
Gustavo Mendes Miranda is a Brazilian comedian, impressionist and screenwriter born on January 30, 1989, in Guarani, in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais. He rose to national fame as the most prominent comedic impersonator of former Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, a character that defined his early YouTube career. Today he tours the country with original stand-up specials and continues to develop characters that blend political satire, observational comedy and pop culture commentary.
Gustavo Mendes started in 2008 by uploading videos satirizing Dilma Rousseff to YouTube, reaching tens of millions of views and becoming one of Brazil's first internet humor phenomenons. He moved into television with appearances on Show do Tom, Zorra Total and Agora E Tarde, and reached prime time on Multishow, where he starred in the sitcoms Treme Treme (playing the building janitor Belmiro) and Xilindro. He also played the social columnist Eloy Di Marco in the Globo telenovela Cheias de Charme. His touring stand-up shows include Mais que Dilmais, Xilindro and the more recent Gustavo Mendes Atrevido. In 2026 he joined the cast of the Brazilian production of The Morning After, a comedy by Peter Quilter, playing Marcio alongside Carol Castro and Bruno Fagundes, with performances in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo at Teatro VillaLobos. His Multishow appearances and live touring have established him as one of the busiest Brazilian impressionist-comedians of his generation.
Gustavo Mendes tours Brazil throughout the year with his stand-up specials, performing in major cities including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis, Aracaju, Campo Grande and Campinas. His content reaches a wide audience on Instagram (@gustavomendestv, 900K followers), TikTok (@gustavomendestv), YouTube (Gustavo Mendes TV) and Facebook.
