About Eddy King

Eddy King is a Franco-Quebec humorist, born in France, in Goussainville (Val-d'Oise), on 14 December 1982, to parents originally from Congo. Having grown up in a single-parent family in Goussainville in the Val-d'Oise, situated in the suburbs of Paris, he immigrated in 1995 with his family to Quebec, at the age of 13.

During his cegep, he quickly became interested in the performing arts, more specifically rap, and founded the group Dogone Tribe with a friend. With this group, he won in 2004 the prize for best rap group as part of the Festival Hip Hop 4ever in Montreal. From then on he was called to host shows and thus developed his passion for stand-up. He went twice to the auditions of the ecole nationale de l'humour and was refused. Despite this failure, he persevered and won the "Coup de coeur" prize at the Concours de la releve of the Festival Juste Pour Rire 2007 edition. In 2008 he did the opening acts for Rachid Badouri's show with his Tintin au Congo number. That same year he took part in the contest En route vers mon premier gala and ranked among the finalists. He then launched his first one-man show at the end of 2011.

Among some appearances at Juste Pour Rire, he could also be seen on Cliptoman, a television show broadcast on MusiquePlus. At the beginning of 2013, he shot a Belgian film co-produced with Boreal Films, Moroccan Gigolos. In 2018, he had a role in the film La Chute de l'empire americain, by Denys Arcand. He is the cousin of the current president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi. He has two children and a stepdaughter.
