Tigran Hovakimyan

Tigran Hovakimyan was born on April 15, 1989 in Armenia and moved to Prague at the age of six, where he learned Czech in elementary school. Before finding his way into comedy, he worked a remarkable range of jobs - kindergarten teacher, bartender, croupier, administrator at the Malaysian Embassy, boxing coach, and construction worker. He credits his early years in amateur children's theatre with giving him the stage instincts that would later make him a natural fit for solo stand-up.

Today Hovakimyan is one of the most recognizable and popular comedians in the Czech Republic. He has appeared on Na Stojaka, Comedy Club, Stand-up Factory, and Filmax, performing regularly in Prague, Brno, Pilsen, Ceske Budejovice, and Hradec Kralove. His comedy draws on the immigrant experience, political observations, absurdist scenarios, and the small contradictions of everyday life in Czechia - all delivered in fluent Czech (one of four languages he speaks). In 2025/2026 he launched his biggest headline tour to date with the solo show "Tigran je ve meste" (Tigran is in Town). He also appeared as an actor in the Netflix production Army of Thieves (2021) and has worked as an MC for major events.

Tigran Hovakimyan tours extensively across Czech cities throughout the year.
