About Anne-Sophie Girard

Anne-Sophie Girard is a French stand-up comedian, actress and playwright, born on April 4, 1982 in Roanne (Loire). She grew up in Lodeve in the Herault, where her father worked in a uranium mine, before the family moved to Montpellier in 1994 following the mine's closure. She started theater at age 11 and joined an improvisation group called Les Thelemites while studying at Lycee Mas de Tesse with her twin sister Marie-Aldine. In 2002 she moved to Paris and enrolled at the Cours Florent drama school for formal theatrical training.

Anne-Sophie Girard launched her first one-woman show 'Anne-Sophie Girard fait sa craneuse' in 2010, winning the SACD Prize at the Festival Le Printemps du Rire the same year. In February 2013 she co-wrote with her twin sister Marie-Aldine the bestselling humor book 'La femme parfaite est une connasse!', published by J'ai Lu and presented as a tongue-in-cheek survival guide to dating, narcissistic exes and dictates imposed on women by media and advertising. The book sold more than one million copies in France, was followed by a second volume and adapted for the stage as a duo show, sometimes referred to as 'Les Girards'. Anne-Sophie is also part of female comedy collectives such as Queens of Comedy and helped launch the Connasse Comedy Club night. Her solo material centers on observational and feminist humor, character work and self-deprecation, mocking the unrealistic standards placed on modern women.

Anne-Sophie Girard performs solo and with her sister Marie-Aldine across France, including dates at the Theatre de Verdure in Nice and at various Paris stand-up rooms. She also appears in French television variety and game shows such as Que le meilleur gagne. Tour dates are published on her official social media and through major French ticketing platforms.
