About Élodie Poux

Élodie Poux is a French humorist, actress and radio personality, born on September 3, 1982 in Longjumeau in the Essonne. She moved to the Nantes region, where she worked for around twelve years as an animatrice periscolaire, leading after-school activities and childcare in primary schools. In 2009 a storytelling and art workshop revealed her taste for the stage, and she began writing her own material drawn directly from her daily experience with young children, parents and the school system.

Poux premiered her first one-woman show 'Le Syndrome du Playmobil' on November 27, 2013 at the Theatre 100 Noms in Nantes, blending storytelling and stand-up around her years as a preschool animator, motherhood and toxic family dynamics. The show toured the francophone world for around ten years and won 33 awards across 23 humor festivals, allowing her in August 2014 to leave her animation job, sign with Kalmia Productions and turn fully professional. A widely shared clip from the 2018 Marrakech du Rire ('L'ecole maternelle') turned her into a viral household name in France. In 2016 she moved to Paris and hosted radio segments on Rire et Chansons ('Top de l'actu', 2016-2018) and later on RTL ('RTL sans filtre', 2022-2023). Her humor is corrosive, character-driven and absurdist, often centered on children, families, school life and small-town France. She has been married to Belgian comedian and director Michel Frenna since June 16, 2018.

Élodie Poux tours France, Belgium and Switzerland with her solo shows, with regular dates in Paris and at the Apollo Theatre and other comedy venues. 'Le Syndrome du Playmobil' was filmed in 2021 and is available via French streaming and DVD outlets. Live dates and merchandise are announced through her official website elodie-poux.fr and her Instagram account.
