About Kheiron Tabib

Manouchehr Tabib, known as Kheiron, is a French-Iranian humorist, actor, screenwriter, director and filmmaker, born on 21 November 1982 in Tehran in Iran. He is the son of Hibat Tabib, an Iranian lawyer and author of sociology books, and of Fereshteh Tabib, an activist within the association Femme dans la cite. His family fled the country in January 1984. While aiming for an artistic life, Kheiron worked for four years as an educator, taking part in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine in a project initiated by his father to help dropout pupils reconnect with school.

He says he was inspired by the humorists Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, Eddie Izzard and Chris Rock. In 2011 he created with friends (notably Kyan Khojandi and Navo) the Bordel Club, a laboratory for jokes, the first of several comedy line-ups he created and presented. He obtained the supporting role of the character named Kheiron in the mini-series Bref, broadcast in Le Grand Journal on Canal+ between August 2011 and July 2012. In 2012 he performed on stage in Libre Education, his improvised stand-up, and he holds the record for longevity and attendance at the theatre de l'Europeen in Paris (18 months).

On 4 November 2015 his first feature film as director, screenwriter and lead actor was released, Nous trois ou rien, which recounts the story of his parents from their youth in Iran to their arrival in France; the film achieved more than 600,000 admissions. On 23 March 2017 he was made chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. In 2018 his new film Mauvaises Herbes was released, in which he also acted alongside Catherine Deneuve and Andre Dussollier. In 2020, his third feature film Brutus vs Cesar was released on Amazon Prime Video. His distinctions include the prix special du jury at the Festival international du film de Tokyo 2015 and a nomination for the Cesar 2016 for meilleur premier film.
