Maxime Gasteuil

Maxime Gasteuil is a French stand-up comedian born in 1987 in Talence, near Bordeaux, who grew up in the wine village of Saint-Emilion. After studying commerce, he moved to Paris in 2010 and trained at the Cours Simon acting school. His comedic persona draws directly from that contrast: the good-humoured provincial navigating the capital, a premise that has earned him close to one million followers on Instagram.

Maxime Gasteuil launched his career in 2013 with early shows in Parisian venues. His breakthrough came when comedian Kev Adams spotted him at Cafe Oscar and co-produced his first full show "Plaisir de vivre" (2017). His second solo show "Maxime Gasteuil arrive en ville" (2021), filmed at the Casino de Paris, was released as a streaming special on Amazon Prime Video. The show portrays his culture-shock move from rural Gironde to the capital and became his signature piece. His third show "Retour aux sources" (2023) toured major French venues including the Folies Bergere, the Dome de Paris, and concluded with a run at the Grand Rex in Paris in March 2025. "Retour aux sources" is available to stream on TF1+. Gasteuil's comedy is grounded in keen observation and warm self-deprecation, making him one of the most accessible voices in contemporary French stand-up.

After the conclusion of the "Retour aux sources" tour with a sold-out run at the Grand Rex in Paris in March 2025, Maxime Gasteuil is expected to develop new material. His previous shows are available on Amazon Prime Video and TF1+. He regularly shares comedy clips on YouTube and Instagram.
