About Patrick Bosso

Patrick Bosso, born on 12 October 1962 in Marseille 3e, is a French humorist and actor. He was born at the maternity hospital of la Belle de Mai, now closed, to Italian parents who immigrated to France. He grew up in the Panier neighbourhood, one of the oldest in Marseille, then moved to the northern districts, in the HLM housing estate "Les Lauriers". His father worked at the naval shipyard of the port of Marseille.

Patrick Bosso began a BEP in plumbing, which he abandoned to prepare the entrance exam for the Institut regional d'administration, then tried small jobs. In 1989 he took theatre classes with Niels Arestrup, who quickly directed him toward the one-man-show. In the midst of the celebration of the bicentenary of the Revolution, he made his solo debut in C'est mechant at the theatre Marie Stuart with the financial support of Eric Cantona. Following this stinging failure, he provisionally drew the curtain on this activity. In 1995 he returned to the stage with Et voila at the theatre de Dix Heures, and his first show was called Qui ?!? Moi !?!, presented in the small hall of the Palais des Glaces.

In 1997 he presented the show Les talons devant, which made him known to the wider public. He hosted from September to October 1998 La Grosse emission on the channel Comedie! with the complicity of les Robins des Bois. His later shows include Bosso exagere trop ! (2000), Le spectacle de ma vie (2002), Du Bonheur (2005) and La courte echelle (2009). In 2016 he held the lead role of the film Marseille by Kad Merad. In his private life, in 2008 he was in a relationship with Rebecca Hampton, alias Celine in the Marseille series Plus belle la vie.
