About Christophe Junca
Christophe Junca, known as Titoff, is a French humorist and comedian, born on 18 July 1972 in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhone). His parents, Gerard Junca, a Marseille painter and building contractor, and Aline Junca, a pied-noir born in Oran who was a hairdresser then a housewife, had Laurent in 1968 and then Christophe in 1972. In his childhood Christophe intended to become a goalkeeper and played during his adolescence in the training centre of the club of Martigues. Only a few weeks younger than a certain Zinedine Zidane, he played with and against him as a player of the football club of la Cayolle, which he said contributed to his giving up a career as a professional footballer. Around the same time, Gerard Lanvin's performance as a white knight in the film Vous n'aurez pas l'Alsace et la Lorraine directed by Coluche gave him the desire to go into show business, and he began taking acting classes in 1989 at the Delta-Theatre of Bernard Viot.
From 1990 he started in his brother's restaurant in Saint-Tropez with two sketches written by Laurent, then performed Les Impros du Lundi with the Delta-Theatre at the Chocolat-Theatre of Marseille. He founded Les Locos with Anthony Sajan-Parker, Jean-Jerome Esposito, Clara Michel and Reda Ben Hassen. He created his first one-man-show at the Chocolat-Theatre in August 1995 and was noticed by Romain Bouteille. He was later spotted at the Quai du Rire of Eliane Zayan by Jean-Luc Delarue, who produced him in Paris. From the year 2000 he began a tour of Parisian venues, and while playing at the Trevise, Thierry Ardisson, host of the program Tout le monde en parle on France 2, offered him a role as a humorist sniper improvising instant irony, in alternation with Laurent Baffie, which revealed him to a wide audience. He then performed at the Palais des Glaces and the Olympia.
His first film role was in Comme Un Aimant, the film by Kamel Saleh and Akhenaton. He then played the lover of Marion Cotillard in the psychological thriller Les Jolies Choses by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, released in 2001, and reunited with the director for the action comedy Gomez et Tavares in 2003, forming a duo of cops with Stomy Bugsy. In 2005 he drew critical attention as the lead of the drama Cavalcade, again with Marion Cotillard as partner, and in 2007 returned to comedy for the sequel Gomez vs Tavares, his last feature film. From 12 December 2007 until 2014 he was part of the regular team of the radio program On va s'gener on Europe 1, where he was nicknamed Titi. He took part in the fourth season of Danse avec les stars on TF1 in autumn 2013, finishing eighth, and in 2014 followed Laurent Ruquier to RTL by joining Les Grosses Tetes.
