Alfons

Alfons is the stage name of Emmanuel Peterfalvi, born March 17, 1967, in Paris. He is a French comedian working in Germany, where he has built his career in television, radio and stand-up comedy. He holds both French and German citizenship.

Peterfalvi originally came to Germany for his military service in the French Army. He learned the German language and decided to settle in Hamburg after, in his own words, he "fell in love with Germany and the Germans". In 1994 he began his career in the television show Kalkofes Mattscheibe on the German pay TV network Premiere. On November 3, 2017, Peterfalvi became a German citizen while keeping his native French citizenship.

Over the years Alfons has become a fixture on German television and radio. He has presented the show Alfons und Gaste on Das Erste and SWR Fernsehen since 2006, and has featured in programmes such as Deutschland lacht, Puschel TV on ARD, and Ein Fall furs All on ZDF alongside Urban Priol. On radio he has hosted Gesellschaftsabend on Saarlandischer Rundfunk and Bonjour Alfons on SWR1 Baden-Wurttemberg. In 2021 he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
