Anne Folger

Anne Folger is a German Klavierkabarett artist - piano cabaret performer - singer, songwriter and concert pianist, born in Weimar and based in Kirchzarten in the southern Black Forest. She combines a fully classical piano career, including a concert exam graded 1.0 and prizes at international piano competitions, with a stand-up-adjacent cabaret persona that mixes virtuoso piano, sharp lyrics and stage humor. Since establishing herself as a solo Kabarettistin in 2019 she has won audience and jury prizes at numerous regional German cabaret festivals.

Folger started playing piano at the age of six and attended a music gymnasium before studying piano, chamber music and song accompaniment at conservatories in Weimar, Paris and Freiburg, completing her concert exam with the top grade of 1.0 and earning prizes at the international Luciano Gante competition in Italy and the Franz Liszt competition in Weimar. From 2009 to 2019 she was one half of the touring piano duo Queenz of Piano, with which she gave more than 800 concerts across Germany, Switzerland and Austria and appeared on ARD Morgenmagazin, NDR DAS! and BR Abendschau. Through the Cellerschule - a master class for lyricists - she developed her own song texts and in 2019 launched her solo Klavierkabarett career, evolving from concert pianist to a cabaret artist who alternates between piano virtuosity and stand-up-style wordcraft. Her solo program 'Spielversprechend' has toured continuously since 2020, and her recognition trail through that period includes the Thueringer Kleinkunstpreis 2015 (with Queenz of Piano), the Obernburger Muehlstein jury and audience prize 2018, the Euskirchen Kleinkunstpreis audience prize 2019, the Herborner Schlumpeweck audience prize 2020, the Kabarett-Regatta of Theater Putbus audience prize 2020, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Kleinkunstpreis Foerderpreis 2021 and the Spezialist audience prize 2022.

Anne Folger is touring through 2026 with her solo Klavierkabarett program 'Spielversprechend', with dates across Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria, Lower Saxony, the Black Forest and other German regions, including outdoor formats such as the OpenAir-Sommer im Basler Hof in Freiburg.
