Robbi Pawlik

Robbi Pawlik, born in Villingen in the Black Forest, performs as Bademeister Schaluppke, a swimming-pool attendant who runs the public baths as if they were his own small kingdom. He is a qualified sports teacher by training and has been on stage since 2002, and his act joins character comedy with music: Schaluppke talks, rocks and raps his way through the evening, with song-and-dance numbers built into the show.

The programme Chlorreiche Tage presents Rudi Schaluppke as a rock in the artificial surf of the wave pool, a superhero in shorts and bath slippers who has to be entertainer, comforter of children, mediator, style adviser and diplomat all at once, until he concludes that a pool attendant is an entertainer too. The comedy is German-language cabaret drawn from the small rules and everyday dramas of the poolside.

Regional papers have followed the character. The WAZ described Pawlik as a comedian who combines music and character comedy, the Hamburger Abendblatt wrote that the figure got the crowd going at the Hamburger Comedy-Pokal, and the Stuttgarter Nachrichten reported that the show earned him the audience prize.
