Felix Lobrecht

Felix Lobrecht, born Felix Manuel Lobrecht on 24 December 1988, is a German stand-up comedian, podcast host, record producer, disc jockey and author. He was born in Mettingen, North Rhine-Westphalia. After his mother died of breast cancer in 1993, his single father Frank moved him and his two siblings to Berlin, where Lobrecht grew up in the Gropiusstadt neighbourhood of the borough of Neukölln. He passed the Abitur exams in 2012 by studying on his own, and later studied political science and economics at the University of Marburg.

Lobrecht first gained recognition as a poetry slammer and, since 2015, as a stand-up comedian. On stage, he mostly tells absurd stories of everyday life garnished with bad puns and long pauses, and often uses the Berlin dialect of German. He became famous through appearances on TV shows like Köln Comedy Nacht XXL 2016 and Comedy Champions 2016 on RTL Zwei. His live tours include Kenn ick! and Hype. His second book, Sonne und Beton (2017), drew on his childhood in Neukölln and Gropiusstadt and was adapted into a film of the same name, released at the Berlinale in February 2023, with a screenplay he co-wrote with director David Wnendt.

Since September 2017, Lobrecht and author and TV host Tommi Schmitt have released the weekly podcast Gemischtes Hack, available exclusively on Spotify since September 2019. The New York Times published an article about Lobrecht on its print cover page on 17 February 2021. His awards include the Deutscher Comedypreis, the 1 Live Krone, the Deutscher Hörbuchpreis and the German Comedy Awards 2020. Following the broadcast of his show All You Can Eat in January 2025, critical voices described it as "disturbing" or "misogynistic."
